Welcome Galician Regional Health Ministry (Conselleria Sanidade, Xunta de Galicia)

We are delighted to welcome the ’Galician Regional Health Ministry’ as our latest member.

Manuel Varela Rey, Director of Health Innovation and Public Health ,commenting on the membership stated " We have joined ECHAlliance because we think it is a good opportunity to establish a new communication channel and to improve our contact network in order to develop healthcare projects".

The public health authority in Galicia and the public healthcare provider named “Galician Healthcare Service” or “SERGAS”, work in close collaboration with the aim of providing high quality sustainable healthcare services.

Our main tool is what we call “Health Innovation Platform”. It is an open channel to internal and external agents and professionals, where a group of multidisciplinary professionals including physicians, scientists, ICT technicians, engineers and board staff listen and evaluate proposals to identify high impact projects.
We are open to projects of collaboration with all type of agents, such as users, associations of patients, private companies, universities, technological centres, etc. looking for synergies and complementarity that can improve quality and efficiency of healthcare services and also produce new products and models to reach the market.

This Platform worked to gain more than 60 million Euros from European Regional Development Fund, ERDF, in order to develop the H2050 and Innova-saúde projects, from 2012 to 2015, to achieve innovation in health articulated around the hospital of the future and a new structural and functional design of the hospitals in the region.
